Florence Minkoff (née Turner), a woman known for her warmth, generosity, and deep love of family and friends, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, at the age of 95.Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Florence met the love of her life, Lawrence “Larry” Minkoff. They married during his military service as a Marine during the Korean War. They began their life together in Brooklyn before settling in Rosedale, Queens, where they raised their two sons. Upon retirement, Florence and Larry moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, where they spent the remainder of their lives.

Florence graduated from Erasmus Hall High School and attended Brooklyn College. Before starting her family, she worked as a dental hygienist. Later, after her sons were older, she became a proud member of the Teamsters Union while working as an Export Clerk near Kennedy Airport.

Beyond her professional life, Florence enjoyed traveling, reading, and playing cards. She took great pride in serving as the Secretary of the Yiddish Club at Banyan Springs Condominium for more than twelve years. Above all else, Florence treasured the time she spent with her family and many dear friends.

Florence is survived by her sons, Steven Minkoff (Pamela) of Staten Island, New York, and Richard Minkoff (Ruth) of Syosset, New York; her four grandchildren, Lisa Minkoff-Johnstone (Alex Johnstone), Ryan Minkoff, Katherine Minkoff, and Alyssa Minkoff (Walton Schmidt); her sister, Shirley Gershberg (Albert); and her nephews, Marc Gershberg (Marcy Veriello), Barry Gershberg (Merrill Kaplan), and Lawrence Gershberg (Marvin Koenig).
