Notes:
Sally Gouz (Hebrew name: Chaya Sura) passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on June 4, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of William and Netti (Berkowitz) Salmanowitz. Sally spent her childhood and teenage years in New Hyde Park. On March 12, 1949, she married the love of her life, Bernie Gouz, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years. Together they raised their family in Elmont, New York. During those years, Sally also lent her time and energy to the family dairy store, fondly remembered in the community for its playful motto, “Gouz Rhymes with Cows.” In 1973, Sally and Bernie moved to Florida, beginning a new chapter of life together. Sally took great pride in her family. She leaves behind a wide circle of loved ones, including her three children Jacqueline Kebart, Larry Gouz, and Ronnie Gouz; her daughters-in-law Susie Gouz and Debbie Gouz; her grandchildren Lisa (Doug Gold) Gottfried, Farah (Doug) Nelson, Jessica (Brandon) Gatke, Steven (Marie) Gouz, Rachel (Aaron) Schreiner, and Jenna (Adam) Kaplan; her 12 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Miles, Cody, Lily, Ashley, Miriam, Benjamin, Shoshana, Everett, Ava, Ariana, and Olivia.
Sally truly exemplified what it meant to be a lady. She created deep connections and lifelong friendships at The Club at Emerald Hills in Hollywood, Florida, and at Stonebridge Country Club. She was actively involved in charitable organizations, including the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Sally enjoyed playing mahjong and canasta, baking her famous mandel bread, appreciating the arts, and traveling the world, including many trips to Israel. Her deep love and steadfast support for Israel were central to her values. A passionate collector of porcelain figurines, she found joy in surrounding herself with the things she loved. Above all else, what Sally cherished most was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she took immense joy in celebrating their milestones, sharing in their accomplishments, and surrounding them with love.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 3pm at Eternal Light Memeorial Gardens, 11520 FL-7, Boynton Beach, FL 33473.
