Stanley Inerfeld, age 95, passed away at the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook, Long Island.
Stanley was born in Brooklyn and grew up in the Bronx. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953, fighting in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged and awarded the Purple Heart for his service.
After his military service, Stanley earned a bachelor’s degree from New York University and spent his career working in security.
Stan was a devoted sports fan who loved all sports, but he was a lifelong and passionate supporter of the New York Yankees and the New York Knicks.
Above all, Stan loved his family immensely and cherished the time he spent with them. He was kind, friendly, and compassionate, and he had a great sense of humor that he often interjected into conversations, bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Lori Crinnion, Michele Luxenberg (Matty), and Steven Sondheimer (Sheri) and grandchildren, Kyle Crinnion and Seth Tanner. He was predeceased by his wife Cecile Inerfeld and his children, Russell Inerfeld and Faith Tanner.
The family requests that donations be made to the Long Island State Veteran’s Home which took excellent care of Stan over the last few years.
