Mark Gilbert Spector, aged 75, of Holbrook, NY, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024. He was born on January 30, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York to Larry and Pauline Spector. He was a proud resident of Holbrook, New York and received both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Brooklyn College. He was passionate about secondary gym and health education, which he taught for decades. Mark loved animals (especially dolphins and whales, dogs, and cats), putting together train models, and his silliness lit up his granddaughters’ faces.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rochelle Spector, and is survived by two children and their spouses: Lawrence Spector and Amy Gorin Spector, and Sara Huwer and Frank Huwer. He leaves behind three beloved grandchildren: Julialyn, Emma, and Hannah, along with his brother Robert and a cherished extended family.
To honor Mark’s memory, the family is holding a shiva on April 19 at 4pm to 8 PM at the Huwer residence in Shoreham, NY and on April 21 at the Spector residence in Stamford, CT 2 PM to 6 PM.
