In Loving Memory of Arlene Provder
Arlene Provder passed away on December 9, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 31, 1947. Arlene was the daughter of the late Esther and Joseph Waldman. Arlene is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Provder, son-in-law, Peter Nahlen, and granddaughters, Julia and Morgan Nahlen. She is also survived by her sister, Marcia Waldman, brother, Steven Waldman, sister-in-law, Mary Kay Waldman, nephews, niece, and cousins, and was predeceased by her brother, Mitchell Waldman.
Arlene had a rewarding career as a registered nurse. Most recently, she was a school nurse at the Young Women’s Leadership School.
Arlene’s warmth and kindness touched many. Arlene will be remembered for her love of family, caring nature, generosity, and big heart. She will be dearly missed.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 12:00pm at Gutterman’s Funeral Home, 8000 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury, New York 11797.
During the pandemic, Arlene was diagnosed with dementia. She faced the challenges of the disease with strength and courage. Arlene’s legacy serves as a reminder to cherish the present and that life is precious. Donations in Arlene’s honor can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
