Beloved wife of Jimmy, daughter of the late Jonah and Irene Kahn. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of James Madison High School, class of 1961, received her Bachelors degree, cum laude in 1965, and Masters in Education, in 1967, both from Brooklyn College and a Certificate of Advanced Study and a Professional Diploma in Educational Administration from Hofstra University.

She then went on to serve as Oceanside Middle School’s Founding Principal and a mentor to countless administrators and educators throughout New York State.

Eventually retiring to the Greens in Melville and Valencia Grand in Boynton Beach, FL with Jimmy, they took up golf, played cards and traveled extensively.  Known to all in those communities as the President of their Brandeis Women’s Network Chapter bringing them together to share ideas, insights and experiences.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years James D’Arrigo, her daughters and fellow educators Jennifer Zuckerman (and her husband Brian of Haverstraw, NY) and Dana Frankel (and her husband David of Melville) and the ones that made her the most proud, her three grandchildren, Jake, Mason and Nikki.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her services on August 11, 2025 at 1:30pm at Gutterman’s Funeral Home, 8000 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury, NY 11797.  A private burial will follow.
