KRAVITZ GAINES, Fay (née Kalb)
Peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the age of ninety-six, in Delray Beach, Florida,
formerly of Montreal. Daughter of the late Harry and the late Lily Kalb. Devoted wife of the late
Julius Kravitz and the late Herman Gaines. Beloved mother of Dr. Gloria Cohen (Dave) and
Leslie Kravitz (Sharon). Dear grandmother of Arielle, Daniel, Josh, and Jake. Predeceased by
her siblings and their spouses, Lou Kalb, Florie Eichenbaum (Joe) and Pearle Leventhal
(Eddie). Sister-in-law of SaraBel Goldin (the late Harry), the late Beatrice Burke (the late Moe),
the late Sonny Kravitz, the late Lester Gaines, and the late Ethel Chicorel. She will be missed by
her many nieces and nephews. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St.W., on Thursday October 12 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Young Israel of Chomedey
Congregation Section, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Duvernay. Shiva at Leslie’s home, 34
Braemar Court, Thornhill, Ontario, Saturday, October 14 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday,
October 15 to Tuesday, October 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily. Donations in
Fay’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
