Lenore S. Laxer, age 90, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Bayside, Queens. She was the loving wife of Sol (of blessed memory), and a devoted mother, grandmother (Mimi), daughter, and sister. Lenore is survived by her children, Michele and Barry Ader, and Marc and Stacy Laxer; her cherished grandchildren, Joshua Ader and his wife Nicole, Melissa Ader, Alyssa Laxer, and Ethan Laxer; and her brother, Stephen Shane, and his wife, Nancy.
She was predeceased by her parents, Murray and Shirley Shane, and her sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Al Herman (all of blessed memory).
Lenore loved her family deeply and cherished the many special moments she shared with them. Her passions included holiday cooking, travel, golf, tennis, friends, canasta, and Mah Jongg. She remained vibrant and fiercely independent until her final day. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, at Gutterman’s in Rockville Center. Shiva will be observed on Tuesday and Wednesday at her son Marc’s home; please reach out to the family for details. Remembrance donations can be made to Hadassah or the American Heart Association.
