Marjorie Silverberg passed away peacefully on November 24, 2023, in Huntington, New York. She was 95 years old. Born Marjorie Marilyn Sloan, on October 20, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She lived the majority of her life near Philadelphia, residing in Wynnewood for over 50 years. She married her Penn State sweetheart David Silverberg in 1948. She graduated from Penn State in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She was a teacher of English and history in the Upper Darby School District for over 30 years before retiring in the early 1990s to be a full-time grandmother. She loved to travel and read. She was preceded in death by David, who passed away in 1975. She is survived by her two sons Roger Silverberg and Bruce Silverberg. She is additionally survived by Roger’s wife, Evelyn Abraham, and her loving granddaughters, Dana and Jillian Silverberg. Funeral services will be held graveside at the Huntington Jewish Center Cemetery at Mount Golda on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, commencing at 2:00 pm. Shiva will be observed at the “Silverberg” residence Wednesday 7:30 pm-9:30 pm, Thursday 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm, and Friday 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
