Norman Gordon passed away on October 1, 2024 at the age of 77.  For many years he had suffered from frontotemporal dementia, which gradually limited his speech, brain, and body.

Before his illness Norman could be found enjoying his numerous hobbies including watching movies and sports, horseback riding, and betting horses.  Norman was an avid runner and for many years was physically in top cardio shape, running five miles almost every day.  Even during his waning years, doctors would often comment about how good Norman’s vitals were, even though his body was no longer functional.

As a young man, Norman lived an adventurous life including driving cross country, riding a motorcycle, and attending many music concerts.  He proudly kept his Woodstock ticket framed in his house and often spoke fondly about the experience.  When together with lifelong friends, they would habitually regale in tales of hi-jinks and tomfoolery.

A proud Brookylnite born and raised, he settled in Bayside, NY with his wife Debra to start a family.  There, he became a proud father to Scott and Kenneth.  Norman tried his hand as an entrepreneur owning a Dunkin Donuts franchise before settling into the world of finance. Eventually he became a financial advisor with longtime stints at Fidelity Investments and Chase Bank where he was an award winning salesperson and successfully helped navigate clients through a variety of market cycles.

What made Norman a successful advisor and parent was his sweet, kind personality.  Mostly jovial, Norman was always ready with a joke, reference, or humorous observation.  He was a big fan of comedy shows, none more than Seinfeld, which he often watched reruns of while sitting on the couch in his den.

Norman is now at peace, and can be reunited with Debra, his wife of 42 years.  He is survived by his brother Sonny and sister Sharon, sons Scott and Kenneth, daughters in law Karen and Mallory, four grandchildren Eli, Ezra, Toby, and Duncan, and cat Dukie II.
