Thelma Rothfarb Albert, age 97, of Melville, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23.
Born in Canarsie, Brooklyn, she is survived by her children, Francene Ehrlich (Richard Ehrlich), Robert Albert (Inna Vendland-Albert), and Ellen Albert-Davidson (Steven Davidson). ‘Nanny’ was a loving grandmother to Jessica Mandy (Greg Mandy), Daniel Davidson (Michela Galante-Davidson), Michelle Davidson, Alex Albert, Matthew Albert, and Neal Davidson. She loved her great-grandchildren Olivia and Brecken dearly. Thelma’s love extended to countless loyal friends and extended family members to which she opened her home and her heart. Thelma was predeceased by her parents Minnie and Teddy and her brother Burton.
Thelma was a woman loved by many.  She loved to cook for her family, especially matzah ball soup, brisket, lemon chicken, and chocolate lollipops. She loved to listen to Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand. Her black and white “cowboy pictures” were a Saturday special. During her high school days at Tilden High, Thelma played on the Girls’ Basketball team, and later in life enjoyed playing mahjong and canasta. After many successful years working as a saleswoman for Bulbtronics, she retired and decided to travel the world.
Thelma was the sweetest woman you could ever meet, with the kindest soul. She touched so many peoples’ lives and will be missed dearly.
